The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Ciliau Aeron contained the following places:
"CILIAU AERON, (or Kilie-Ayron or Cilie Aeron), a parish partly in the lower division of the hundred of Ilar, and partly in that of Troedyraur, county Cardigan, 4 miles S.E. of Aberaeron. It is situated on the river Aeron, a branch of the Teifi. The village is small, and wholly agricultural. Stone is quarried. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of St. David's, value £100, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is a small structure of stone.
