The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Henllan Amgoed contained the following places:

"HENLLAN AMGOED, (or Hen-llan-am-goed), a parish in the hundred of Derllys, county Carmarthen, 5 miles from Narberth, its post town, and 15 from Carmarthen. It includes the chapelry of Eglwysfairachyrig. The village is considerable. The living is a rectory, with the curacy of Eglwysfairachyrig annexed, in the diocese of St. David's, value together £86. The Independents have a chapel here.

"EGLWSFAIRACHYRIG, a chapelry in the parish of Henllan Amgoed, hundred of Derllys, county Carmarthen, 16 miles N.E. of Narberth. It is situated on the river Taff. The living is a curacy in the diocese of St. David's, annexed to the rectory of Henllan Amgoed, in the patronage of the land proprietors thereof. The church is dedicated to St. David."

"EGLWYSFAIR, a small place in the parish of Henllan-Amgoed, in the W. of the county Carmarthen, South Wales, 6 miles N.E. of Narberth."
