The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llanddowror contained the following places:

"LLANDDOWROR, a parish in the hundred of Derllys, county Carmarthen, 2 miles S.W. of St. Clears, its post town, and 4 N.W. of Laugharne. The river Taff flows through the neighbourhood, which yields stone suitable for building purposes. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of St. David's, value £132. The church is dedicated to St. Cringat, and has a monument to a former rector, named Jones, placed here by Mrs. Bevan, who founded the Welsh circulating schools."
