Llangadock

..................the town is governed by a portrieve and eight burgesses; a court leat is held twice annually, and a baron court monthly.

..........a chapel if ease in the hamlet of Gwinfe..............

..........this is a place of little trade but what is derived from its fairs --- which are on the 16th of January, 12th of March, last Thursday in May, 9th of July, first Thursday after September 11th, second Thursday after old Michaelmas-day, and the 12th of December.

The parish, which comprises the hamlets of Above-Sawdde, Duffryn-Cydrich, and Gwinfe, contained, in 1831, 2,476 inhabitants, and in 1841, 2,604.

Post Office, Henry Evans, Post Master.--- Letters from London and all parts arrive (from Brecon) every afternoon at a quarter before two, and are despatched every morning at thirteen minutes past ten.

• To Gloucester, the Royal Mail (from Pembroke) every morning at ten; goes thro' Llandovery, Brecon, Abergavenny, Monmouth, and Ross
