Below that is a translation by Eric Davies (Dec 2007)

Esgairdawe

"Yr ydym wedi rhoddi agos y cwbl sydd genym am yr achos yma yn hanes Ffaldybrenin.

Codwyd y capel cyntaf yma yn 1755, ac yno y buyr achos hyd y flwyddyn 1844, pryd y codwyd capel newydd yn nes i ganol y boblogaeth, tua milldir oddiwrth yr hen gapel ar y ffordd i Lansawel. Gallwn dybied mai yma yr oedd y gynnulleidfa gryfaf hyd nes ysymudwyd o Crofftycyff i Ffaldybrenin, er nad ydym yn tybied i'r gynnulleidfafod yn gryf iawn yn y naill na'r llall cyn dechreu y ganrif bresenol.Nid yw Crofftycyff nac Esgairdawe i'w cael yn yr ystadegaeth a gasglodd Dr John Evans yn 1715; ac yn yr ystadegaeth a gasglodd Mr.Evan Griffiths yn 1774 rhoddir cynnulleidfa Esgairdawe i lawr yn 160.

Mae yma yn awr achos cryf a llewyrchus, ac y mae yn parhau mewn undebgweinidogaethol Ffaldybrenin, dan ofal Mr. H. Jones. "

Translation

We have placed almost all the information we have about this Chapel in the history of Ffaldybrenin.

The first chapel was built here in 1755 and the cause remained there until 1844 when a new chapel was built nearer to the centre of population, about a mile away from the old chapel on the road to  Llansawel. We assume that this was the larger congregation until it moved from Crofftycyff to Ffaldybrenin, although we can surmise that neither congregation was very large before the start of the present  century. Neither Crofftycyff nor Esgairdawe is present in the statistics collected by Dr John Evans in 1715; and in the statistics collected by Mr Evan Griffith in 1744 the congregation of Esgairdawe is stated as being 160.

There is now a strong and prosperous congregation here which shares the Ministry with Ffaldybrenin, under the care of Mr H. Jones.
