The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog contained the following places:

"LLANARMON-DYFFRYN-CEIRIOG, a parish in the hundred of Chirk, county Denbigh, 7 miles S.E. of Llandrillo, and 8 W. of Oswestry, its post town. It is situated on the river Ceiriog, and includes the townships of Llowran and Llowarch. The village is considerable. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of St. Asaph, value £250, in the patronage of the Bishop of Llandaff. The church is dedicated to St. Germanus. Here are traces of a strongly fortified camp. Fairs are held on the first Monday after the 11th April, 13th August, and 19th October."

"LLORAN, a township in the parish of Llanarmon-Dyffryn-Ceiriog, county Denbigh, 10 miles S.W. of Chirk."

"LLOWARCH, a township in the parish of Llanarmon-Dyffryn-Ceiriog, county Denbigh, 10 miles S.W. of Chirk."
