The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llandysilio contained the following places:

"LLANDYSILIO, (or Llantysilio), a parish in the hundred of Yale, county Denbigh, 2 miles N.W. of Llangollen, its post town, and 7 E. of Corwen. It is situated on the northern bank of the river Dee, and includes the townships of Coedwrg, Cymmo, Llandynam, and Maesrychen. Lime and slate are obtained, and some of the people are employed in the woollen manufacture. The village is considerable. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of St. Asaph, value £115. The church is dedicated to St. Tisilio. In this parish are the ruins of the Cistercian Abbey of Llan-Ggwst, also the Eliseg pillar. Llantysilio Hall is the principal residence.

"LLANDYNAM, a township in the parish of Llandysilio, county Denbigh, 2 miles N.W. of Llangollen. The river Dee flows through it."

"MAESRYCHEN, a township in the parish of Llandysilio, county Denbigh, 2 miles N.W. of Llangollen."
