"Codwyd capel yma, trwy lafur Mr. W. Hughes, Dinas, yn y flwyddyn 1821. Agorwyd ef Mai 30ain a'r 31ain, o'r flwyddyn hono. Pregethwyd ar yr achlysur gan Meistri M. Jones, Bala ; H. Lloyd, Towyn ; W. Morris, Llanfyllin; D. Morgan, Machynlleth; C. Jones, Dolgellau; J. Ridge, Penygroes ; H. Hughes, Llechwedd; a J. Lewis, Bala. Bwriedid ef i wasanaethu fel ysgoldy, a lle i bregethu yn achlysurol, ac felly y bu hyd farwolaeth Mr. Hughes, ac am dymor wedi dechreuad gweinidogaeth Mr. J. Williams. Tua'r flwyddyn 1832 y corpholwyd yr aelodau yma yn eglwys Annibynol, ac y mae wedi parhau felly, ond dan yr un weinidogaeth a'r Dinas. Ni bu yr achos yma erioed yn gryf, ond y mae yma nifer o bobl  ffyddlon. Rhifa yr aelodau o ugain bedwar-ar-hugain. Ni chodwyd yma yr un pregethwr. Bu John Jones, Tycanol, Hugh Thomas, Blaenfenant, ac Edward Evans, Brynuchaf, yma yn ddiaconiaid, a llenwir yr un swydd yn bresenol gan Evan Jones, Tycanol."

"A chapel was built here, through the efforts of Mr W. Hughes, Dinas, in the year 1821. It was opened on May 30th and 31st, of that year. Mr M. Jones, Bala; Mr H. Lloyd, Towyn; Mr W. Morris, Llanfyllin; Mr D. Morgan, Machynlleth; Mr C. Jones, Dolgellau; Mr J. Ridge, Penygroes; Mr H. Hughes, Llechwedd; and Mr J. Lewis, Bala preached on the occasion. It was intended to serve as a schoolroom, and a place to preach on occasions, and that is how it stood until the death of  Mr Hughes, and for a season after the beginning of Mr J. Williams' ministry. It was about the year 1832 that these members were incorporated into an Independent church, and this is how it has stayed, but under the same ministry as Dinas. This cause was never strong, but there are several very faithful people. There are from twenty to twenty-four members. No preacher was ever raised here.  John Jones, Tycanol, Hugh Thomas, Blaenfenant, and Edward Evans, Brynuchaf, were here as deacons, and presently Evan Jones, Tycanol fills the same position."
