IFFTWN / IFTON, Monmouthshire

"IFTON, a parish in the hundred of Caldicott, county Monmouth, 6 miles S.W. of Chepstow. There is no village, only a few farmhouses. The living is a rectory united with the rectory of Rogiett, in the diocese of Llandaff. The church has long been in ruins."

• No entry for the Parish Church - said to be misplaced owing to confusion with Itton parish  -  although Lewis 1848 says Ifton church had been demolished anyway.

• The Parish Registers of Wales (NLW, 1986) states that there are no visible remains of a church at Ifftwn / Ifton, and whilst the parish has long been associated with Roggiet, no separate records survive.
