"LLANVIHANGEL-NIGH-USK, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Abergavenny, county Monmouth, 4 miles S.E. of Abergavenny. Usk is its post town. The river Usk flows through the parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Llandaff, value £123. The church is dedicated to St. Michael. The bequests for charitable purposes produce about £15 per annum."
