"MAMHILAD, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Abergavenny, county Monmouth, 3 miles N.E. of Pontypool, its post town, and 7 from Abergavenny. The parish, which is small, is situated on the Brecon canal. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Llandaff. Mamhilad House is the principal residence."
