The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Castlebythe contained the following places:

"CASTLEBYTHE, (or Castle Bigh), a parish in the hundred of Kemess, in the county of Pembroke, South Wales, 11 miles to the N.E. of Haverfordwest, its post town. The Roman road called Via Julia, passed near this village, and remains of a camp are still seen here. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St. David's, in the gift of the lord chancellor.
