Anniversary and Centenary Service - of Congregational Church on 5th July.
NOTES OF THE WEEK : Lanteague Centenary - the story of Lanteague Congregational church which celebrates its centenary next Sunday is an extremely interesting one. the origin of the church can be traced back to the loft of an old house at Lanteague cross where services where started in the year 1825. A successful local mission was started and some well known local names where connected with it. Among the number was Daniel Richards who by the way was the grandfather of the present pastors wife Mrs J. H. Phillips. The first chapel was built by the parishioners near the site of the present building for a school. It was in 1854 that a congregational church was formed and the present chapel was built in 1889. The first minister was the late Rev. J. Davies, Carvan and Soar, who was one of the pillars of congregationalism in the district. The present pastor the Rev. J. Howell Phillips J.P., has held the pastorate of Lanteague and Longstone for the last 23 years.

Band of HOPE - Report with recitations.
Pretty Crunwere Wedding - On Saturday, the 6th inst., a very pretty wedding was solemnised at Crunwere Church, the contracting parties being Mr Thomas Wilkins, of Amroth, and Miss Gladys Mary Phillips, eldest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr T. Phillips, of Middleton Crunwere. Owing to the illness of the resident rector, the Rev. R Jackett, the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. W.F. Davies (Vicar of Amroth). The bridesmaid was Miss Milly Phillips (sister of the bride), the duties of the bestman being ably carried out by Mr Albert Wilkins (cousin of the bridegroom). The Bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr T. Phillips, was neatly attired in a brown crepe suede dress, with hat to match. On leaving the church the happy couple were showered with confetti by a host of well-wishers. The reception was held at the brides' home, where a goodly company assembled. Mr & Mrs Wilkins were the recipients of a large number of useful presents. Their numerous friends extend their best wishes for future happiness.

Concert Postponed - The influenza epidemic has begun to rage in the village. In some cases whole families have been stricken down whilst three-fourths of the schoolchildren are already effected. The Llanteg concert party has likewise not escaped, and so many of its members are "hors de combat", that the concert which was to have been given by them tomorrow (Friday) under the leadership of the Rector (Rev D. Morgan), himself a victim of the epidemic - has had to be postponed until Easter - The exact date will be announced later. It is to be earnestly hoped that all sufferers will experience a speedy and complete recovery.
