The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llanfair Nant Gwyn contained the following places:

"LLANFAIR-NANT-GWYN, a parish in the hundred of Kemess, county Pembroke, 6 miles S. of Cardigan, its post town, and 7 E. of Newport. The quartz rock which abounds here gives origin to the name Nant-Gwyn, signifying "white vale." It is a small rustic place. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of St. David's, value £70. The church is dedicated to St. David. The charities amount to about £2 per annum."
