In 1868, the parish of Morfil contained the following places:

"MORFIL, a parish in the hundred of Kemess, county Pembroke, 5 miles S. of Newport. Haverford-West is its post town. It is situated near Precelly Mountain. The village is small, and wholly agricultural. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St. David's, value £81. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
