SURNAME LISTS |
Here is a set of Surname Research Directories, one for the six main geographical areas (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man and Channel Isles) covered by GENUKI, that are maintained on behalf of GENUKI by Graham Jaunay. Each details the surnames being researched, indicating the specific county involved where this is known, and gives the Internet email addresses of the researchers concerned. It also provides on-line forms for adding and correcting entries in the directory.

The above five major lists cover all counties for which there is not a continuing separate county-specific surname list, and also provide links to such continuing lists (see also below). The five major lists can be searched, and entries can be added, for names without necessarily specifying a particular county name.
Julian and Angela Richens' UK Genealogy Interests Directory provides similar searchable listings covering all parts of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Below is a selective list of links to the listings that various other people are still actively compiling of surnames being researched in specific counties. (Though these surname lists are not formally part of GENUKI, many of them have been set up in close co-operation with the relevant section of GENUKI, though others are quite independent. However, in either case comments and questions regarding any given list should be addressed to the maintainer of that particular list.)"
