"CROGLIN, a parish in Leath ward, in the county of Cumberland, 12 miles N.E. of Penrith, its post town, and 4½ from Kirkoswald. It is situated on Croglin Water, a tributary of the river Eden. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Carlisle, value £300, in the patronage of the Rev. E. Bowman. The church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, is a small plain stone structure."
