"CULMINGTON, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of Munslow, in the county of Salop, 4½ miles N. of Ludlow, its post town, and 10 from Bishop's Castle. It is situated on the river Corve, and contains Burley, Seifton, and Bache. The village is small. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Hereford, value £800, in the patronage of W. J. Clement, Esq. The church, dedicated to All Saints, is a small ancient structure. The charities amount to £1 per annum. Near here is a Roman camp. George Hood, Esq., is lord of the manor."
