"MEOLE-BRACE, (or Brace-Meole), a parish in the borough of Shrewsbury, and hundred of Condover, county Salop, 1½ mile S. of Shrewsbury, its post town. The parish includes the townships of Hokoe-Gate, Nobold, Newton, and Edgebold. Sharpstone hills, Bomere Pool, and Lyth Hill, are spots a mile distant from the village, and noted for their scenery. The stream which flows through the village abounds in trout."
