"CHADDESLEY CORBETT, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of Halfshire, in the county of Worcester, 13 miles to the N. of Worcester, and 4½ S.E. of the Kidderminster station on the Oxford, Worcester, and Wolverhampton line. Some of the inhabitants are engaged in worsted spinning. The living is a vicarage* in the diocese of Worcester, value £541, in the patronage of the lord chancellor. The church is an ancient building, partly Gothic and partly Norman in style of architecture. It, possesses a spire and a peal of eight bells. The annual value of the charities amounts to about £327. Here are two-free schools for both sexes, and a Roman Catholic chapel."
