The Church was originally built, at the expense of Mrs Ann Nicholson, as a Mission room for the Vale Road area of Rhyl. The foundation stone was laid on 25 October 1893. The first service was held on Thursday, 26 June 1894, and the church was consecrated on Monday, 9 November 1896, as a chapel of ease to the parish church of Rhyl.
By an Order in Council, it was created a consolidated chapelry on 6 March 1902. It does not appear to have ever operated as a parish in its own right, and it now functions as a district church within the parish of Rhyl. At one time, it was dubbed the "Railwayman's Church".
It was licensed to conduct marriages in 1909, the first marriage being recorded on 11 July 1909.
The church was extended in 1931, and extensively renovated in 1962.
