The parish is situated at the mouth of the river Exe, and comprises 2068 acres, of which 1398 are arable, 391 meadow, 50 orchards, 165 furze and common, and 63 glebe land. . . The church is an ancient structure, in the early Eng1ish style, and contains about 600 sittings.
