The following description of the memorials in the churchyard of the Parish Church of St Andrew's, Wraysbury, are quoted from the book, published in 1862, entitled "History of the Parish of Wraysbury, Ankerwycke Priory, and Magna Charta Island; with the History of Horton, and the town of Colnbrook, Bucks" by Gordon Willoughby James Gyll.

The descriptions reads as follows:

NORTH SIDE -

In Memory of John Lovegrove, who died 23rd July 1786, aged 38 years.

In Memory of Mary Lovegrove, widow of John Lovegrove, who died 22nd January 1787, aged 49 years.

Altar tomb - Here lyeth the body of John Goodman, who died February 1776, aged 70. Also Mary and Sarah Goodman, wife of the above John Goodman, who departed this life 10th February 1788, aged 86.

In Memory of Mrs. Ann Goodman, who died February, 12th 1803, aged 76 years.

In Memory of Mrs. Ann Buckland, relict of the late Thomas Buckland, who departed this life 21st April, 1828, aged 74. Also of Mary Ann, daughter of Charles and Martha Hewlitt, and grandchild of the above, who died in infancy.

Mr. John Virgo Buckland, son of the above, died 24th November 1833, aged 41 years.

In Memory of Mr. Thomas Buckland, of this parish, who departed this life 14th january 1812, aged 65 years. Also to the Memory of Martha, the beloved wife of Charles Hewlitt, of Herefordshire, and daughter of the above, who departed this life 16th April 1830, aged 54 years.

In Memory of Mr. Francis Virgo Buckland, son of Virgo and Ann Buckland, who departed this life 22nd April, 1824, aged 11 years. Also of William Virgo Buckland, brother of the above, who died 14th November 1827, aged 17. Also of Charles Thomas Buckland, brother of the above, who died 19th November 1845, aged 25 years.

In Memory of Mr. Virgo Buckland, late of this parish, who departed this life 12th September 1825, aged 39.

Sacred to the Memory of Alfred, son of John and Maria Dyson, late of Botolph Lane, London, died 6th Sept. 1845, aged 26.

Here lyeth the body of David Wingrove, of this parish, who departed this life 28th March 1785, aged 76 years.

Here lyeth the body of Mrs. Mary Wingrove, wife of Mr. David Wingrove, of this parish, she departed this life 10th February 1781, aged 66.

Here lie the remains of Martha West, wife of Thomas West, who departed this life 5th July 1814, aged 42 years.

Here lieth the body of Mr. William Moore, who departed this life, 19th April, 1771, aged 66.

Here also lieth the body of Elizabeth Moore, wife of the above, who depart this life 30th September 1771, aged 61 years. Likewise near this place is the body of Mrs. Mary Pocock. She departed this life 19th April 1773, aged 91.

In Memory of Mary Morgan, who died 22nd April 1828, aged 61 years.

Altar tomb - In memory of Mr. Arthur Palmer, of this parish, who departed this life 20th September 1780, aged 54. Also Arthur and Martha Palmer, who departed this life 15th July 1782, aged 10 months. To the Memory of Arthur Palmer, who departed this life 1st April 1799, in the --- year of his age.

In Memory of Mrs. Martha Herbert, of the parish of Isleworth, Middlesex, who died 18th January 1822, aged 64. Also Elizabeth Hester, daughter of James and Mary Ann Herbert, who died 12th February 1828, aged 15 months. Also Mr. Thomas Herbert, father of the above, who departed this life 29th August 1832, aged 63 years.

In Memory of William Sills, who departed this life 11th March 1824, aged 24. Also Daniel Sills, father of the above, who died 1st April 1831, aged 53 years.

In Memory of Ann Sills, of this parish, who died 27th November 1823, aged 74 years. Also Mr. Daniel Sills, husband of the above, who departed this life 3rd January 1832, aged 76 years.

In Memory of Mr. John Barrow, of this parish, and formerly of Waverham in Cheshire, who departed this life 15th December 1820, in his 54th year. Also of Elizabeth Barrow, wife of the above, who died 27th January 1854, aged 86, respected and lamented by all who knew him.

Here lyeth the body of Ellis Style, who departed this life - 1775. Here lyeth the body of Mr. Robert Style, who departed this life November 1770, aged -- and 10 months.

Sacred to the Memory of Mrs. Ann Style, widow of Robert Style, who died 28th September 1807, aged 30 years.

In Memory of Mr. Robert Style, who died 27th April 1828, aged 73. Also three children, Peter, died 9th April 1810; Mary Ann, died 23rd July 1824; Charlotte, died March 30th 1827. Also of Martha Style, daughter of the above, died 23rd February 1831, aged 14. Also Elizabeth, daughter of the above, and wife of William Clarke, of Datchet, who died 7th January 1846, in the 54th year of her age.

Hear lyeth the body of Mrs. Mary Winch, relict of Mr. John Winch, of this parish, who died 2nd Dec. 1755, aged 89.

Here lyeth the body of Mr. John Winch, late of this parish, who died 21st January, 1745, aged 72 years.
In Memory of Mrs. Ann Martin, relict of Mr. Samuel Martin, of this parish, who departed this life 14th January 1769, aged 62 years.

In Memory of Mrs.Elizabeth Style, wife of H. Style, of New Windsor, died 10th April 1790, aged 33. Also Martha, their daughter, died 23rd September 1794, aged 3 months and 20 days. Mr. H. Style departed this life 10th May 1802, aged 39.

Here lies the body of Mary Jordan, who died 14th December 1760, aged 21 years.

Beneath this stone lyeth interred the remains of Samuel Taylor, who died 20th April 1790, aged 27.

In Memory of Samuel Plastow, who died 1st March 1828, aged 56.

In Memory of Mr. Edward Stevens, who departed this life 27th February 1810, aged 76.

Sacred to the Memory of Mr. William Milbourne, of --- London, who died 24th June, 1780, aged 41. Also Mrs. Martha Milbourne, wife of the above, who died 17th January 1827, in her 72nd year.

In Memory of Mr. Joseph Keates, late of the parish of Egham, who died 15th October, 1810, aged 53 years.

Here lieth the body of Mr. Richard Very, late of this parish, who departed this life May 1745, aged 57.

Here lyeth interred the remains of Thomas Robinson, who died 2nd August 1820, aged 50. Also his sister, Jane Robinson, who departed this life 11th Feb. 1824, aged 48.

In Memory of Elizabeth, wife of George Trash, who departed this life 16 Jan. 1815, aged 27.

Sacred to the Memory of Mr. William Groom, who departed this life 10th day of June 1811, aged 72.

In Memory of Mr. Thos. Groom, son of William and Mary Groom, of this parish, who departed this life 31st October, 1805, aged 45.

Here lyeth the body of Martha, wife of Mr. Richard Grove, who died 30th July 1756, aged 64 years. Also Martha, daughter of Richard and Martha Grove, died 16th April 1757, aged 38.

Altar tomb - Here lieth the body of Elizabeth, wife of John Russel, who died 9th April, 1759, aged 48 years. Here lyeth the body of John Russel, departed this life 6th November 1706.

Altar tomb - Here lieth the body of Ambrose Adkins, of the parish of Stanwell, Middlesex, yeoman, who died 2nd September 1706, aged 66.

Here also lyeth the body of Mary, the wife of the said Ambrose Adkins, who departed this world 27th April 1735, aged 87.

Sacred to the Memory of Michael Willis, son of Michael and Mary Willis, who departed this life 2nd July 1788, aged 15. Also Mary Willis, she died 16th August 1804, aged 51. Also Michael Willis, died 8th Oct. 1814, aged 68.

SOUTH SIDE -

Sacred to the Memory of John Painter, who died 10th November 1831, aged 67.

In Memory of Elizabeth Hood, daughter of William and Ellis Hood, and niece of John Painter, who died 20th September 1834, aged 22.

Sacred to the Memory of Sarah Taplin, died 13th March 1850, in her 62nd year.

In Memory of Christian Mathews, of this parish, died 10th August 1781, aged 70.

Sacred to the Memory of William Darling, who was 58 years employed in Mr. Goodwin's family of Datchet, died 18th April 1848, aged 84. Also Elizabeth, wife of William Darling, departed this life 3rd Feb. 1836, aged 67 years.

Mrs. Mary Wilmot, wife of Nathaniel Wilmot, of this parish, who departed this life 28th Feb. 1807, aged 47.

In Memory of Shadrach Child, late of this parish, who died 22nd October, 1780, aged 69;. Also near this place lies the bodies of Shadrach Child, his father, who died 26th November 1745, aged 71; Elizabeth Child, his mother, died 12th March 1749, aged 75; Thomas Child, his brother, died 21st October 1767, aged 66. His five sisters also died, Elizabeth, 5th June 1746, aged 44; Margaret, 14th October 1751, aged 35; Anne, 18th August 1775, aged 66; Jane, 2nd October 1776, aged 62; Martha, 25th November 1780, aged 66.

In Memory of John Crowder, who died 15th October 1759, aged 73.

Here lieth the body of Elizabeth Smith, in expectation of that great day - what sort of person she was that great day will best discover - she died 28th March 1749, aged 32.

Here lieth the body of Mrs. Sarah Trotman, who died 24th June 1735, aged 31.

In Memory of Mr. Joshua Bonnett, who died 29th Feb. 1856, aged 57, after a long and painful illness. - South side.

Sacred to the Memory of Bathsheba Gurney, who died 14th April 1856, aged 73. Cruciform headstone. - West side.

Sacred to the Memory of Mrs. Sarah Tappin, who died 3rd March 1850, in her 62nd year, after a long and painful illness, which she bore with Christian fortitude and patient resignation. - East side.

Sophia Louisa Ibotson, died 1st June 1854. Richard Ibotson, Esq. father of the above, died 24th March 1858, aged 59 years. Also Grace, wife of the above, died 30th December, 1858, aged 52. - West side.

To the Memory of Matthew Combe Westaway, 3rd son of Mark Alpheus and Elizabeth Westaway, of Hythe End Farm, Ankerwycke, who departed this life 28th July 1858, in the 29th year of his age.

On the South-eastern side of the Churchyard -

Agnes Mary Neville, born 1st March 1821, died 13th October 1860. "She is not dead but sleepeth." The stone is horizontal, on which is a recumbent cross.

Upon a high altar tomb of black marble environed with iron rails, on the South-side of the Church to the right of the entrance porch, are inscribed these words on the tomb, and also on the side of the tomb -

Here lyeth the body of Mary Lee, relict of John Lee, Esq. late of Ankerwycke within this parish, she departed this life 13th day of April 1725, in the 69th year of her age.

At the West-end of the Church and against the belfry wall, is a mural tablet to the Harcourt family, bearing the following inscription -

Ann Harcourt, wife of John Harcourt, Esq. of this Manor of Wraysbury, who died in the year of Our Lord 1770. "The just shall be be had in everlasting remembrance."

Also several altar tombs over the vault of the Harcourt family, shewing the following records -

Sacred to the Memory of Philip Harcourt, Esq. of Wigsell, in the parish of Salehurst, county Sussex, where he was buried 18th July 1708. He was eldest son of Sir Philip Harcourt, Kt., of Stanton Harcourt in the county of Oxford, by Elizabeth his 2nd wife, daughter of John Lee, Esq. of London and Ankerwycke House, in this parish, and younger brother of Simon, Viscount and Baron Harcourt, some time Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain.

John Harcourt, Esq. of Ankerwycke, Lord of this Manor, 3rd but eldest surviving son and heir of Philip Harcourt, Esq. of Wigsell, who was buried here 5th October 1789, aged 77.

Sacred to the Memory of Lee Harcourt, 2nd son of Philip Harcourt, Esq. of Wigsell, who died in Bombay, in the East Indies, A.D. 1726, unmarried.

And of Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Philip Harcourt, Esq. and Sarah, his wife, who was here buried 5th May 1735.

Sacred to the Memory of Elizabeth, wife of Philip Harcourt, Esq. of Wigsell, daughter and heir of Timothy Woodroffe, M.D., who died 16th December 1728, aged 57.

And of Philip Harcourt, Esq., some time of the Middle Temple, and Lord of this Manor, eldest son of Philip Harcourt, Esq. of Wigsell, and Elizabeth his wife, who died without surviving issue 16th March 1759, aged 61.

Also of Anne, first wife of John Harcourt, Esq. of Ankerwycke, who was Lord of this Manor. She died without issue, and was here buried 20th December 1770.

Sacred to the Memory of George W. Richard, 3rd and youngest son of John Harcourt, Esq. of Ankerwycke, and Mary Irene his 2nd wife; a Major-General and Colonel of the 12th Regiment of Foot, and Governor of the Island of St. Croix, where he died unmarried 19th December 1812, aged 37.

Sacred to the Memory of John Simon Harcourt, Esq., of Ankerwycke, Lord of this Manor, sometime M.P. for Westbury, co. Wilts, eldest son and heir of John Harcourt, Esq. and Margaret Irene his wife. He died 21st Feb. 1810, aged 37 years.

And of Margaret Irene, 2nd wife of John Harcourt, Esq. and daughter of Jphn Sarney Esq. of Somerset House, afterwards married to Admiral Molyneaux, [Footnote: Second son of Rev. Samuel Shuldham, of the Diocese of Ossory, Ireland, co. Baron, 24th June 1776, ob. 1798, sp. Some children of the Harcourts who died infants have been omitted.] Lord Shuldham, and lastly to John, Earl of Clanwilliam. She died at Silberg, on her estates near Clagenfurth, in Carinthia, 22nd Feb. 1811.

Also of Elizabeth Dale, wife of John Simon Harcourt, Esq. of Ankerwycke, daughter of Major Henniker, Esq., and niece to John, Lord Henniker, who died 10th May 1811, aged 27.

Sacred to the Memory of Jessy, 2nd daughter of John Rolls, Esq. of the Hendre, county Monmouth, the beloved wife of George Simon Harcourt, Esq. Lord of this Manor, A.D. 1834, High Sheriff, and sometime one of the representatives in Parliament for this County, She was born 25th June 1809, married 24th June 1833, and died universally beloved, respected and lamented, suddenly at Paris, 29th July 1842.
