"LITTLEWICK GREEN, a village situated in a highly cultivated and picturesque country on the border of the Great Bath road and 3 1/2 miles west from Maidenhead, was formed into an ecclesiastical parish in 1894 out of the civil parish of White Waltham: it is in the Eastern division of the county, Beynhurst hundred, Maidenhead petty sessional division, Maidenhead union, Windsor county court circuit, rural deanery of Maidenhead, archdeaconry of Berks and diocese of Oxford. The church of St John the Evangelist, erected in 1893 from designs by Mr E J Shrewsbury ARIBA of Maidenhead, is a cruciform building of blue pennant stone, with Bath stone dressings, consisting of chancel, nave, transepts, vestries, west porch and a turret containing two bells; and was erected, and endowed by Miss Frances Elizabeth Ellis of White Waltham Place in memory of her mother Mrs Catherine Ellis, as appears by the inscription on a brass on the west wall."
