1) will of john savage
in the name of god amen, the seavent and twentith day of march in the yeare of our lord god one thousand six hundred and twenty seaven.
i john savage the elder of knoll in the parish of little bedwin in the county of wilts gent being sicke in body but of good and perfect minde and memory god be thanked therefore do ordain and make this my last will and testamente in manner and forme following.
first i commend my soule into the hands of almighty god my maker and creator and my body to the earth in x'pian manner to be buried at the discrecion of my executrix hereafter named.
item i give to the parishe church of little bedwin three shillings and fower pence, and i give to the poore of the same parishe five shillings.
item i give unto my daughters marain and dorothy to each of them six pounds thirteene shiilligns and fower pence of lawfull englishe money to be paide unto them within fower yeres next after my decease, all the rest and residue of my goods and chattles i doe give and bequeath unto johanne my wife whom i doe ordaine and make the sole executrix of this my testement and last will.
and i doe request that my brother in lawes alexander hidden and john hidden to be overseers of this my testament, and i give to either of them for their paines to be taken therin iiis iiiid a peece, and i doe hereby revoke all former wills by me heretofore made.
in witnesse whereof i the saide john savage have hereunto sett my hand and seale and have published the same the day and yere above written in the presence of those witnesses whose names are hereunder written vizt
