In he name of god amen i thomas hall of oxenwood in the countie of wilts yeoman hole of mynde god be thanked. doe decelare and ordeyne my last will and testament in manner and fourme following. first i bequeth my soule to god almightie my body to be buried in such place as it shall seme good to my wiffe. itm i bequeth to the cathedral church of saram xiid. item to the parrishe church of shalborne three shillinges and foure pence. item to them parish churche of titcombe sixe shillinges and eight pence. alao i give and bequeth to elianor my wife all those my messuages landes tenem entes and heridtamentes with all and singular theire appurtenances sett lying and being in the parrishes townes and feldes of shalborne aforesaide called haveringes and casecroft. to have and to holde the same vnto the said eleanor and her assigneis for and during the term of her naturall liffe without empechement of waste for and in the name of her joynter and dowre. and after the decease of the said eleanor then i give and bequeth all the saide mesuages landes and tenements unto thomas hall my son and to the heirs males of his body lawfully begotten.
and in default of heirs male of thomas then to william my son and his heirs male
and in default of heirs male of william then to anthony my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of anthony then to john hall my eldest son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of john then to richard hall my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of richard then to lionel hall my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of lionel then to the right heirs of the said thomas hall my son for ever.
also i will and devise than the saide elianor my wiffe her executors and assigneis shall peasablie and quietly recieve and take and have to her owen use the issues revenuce and proffittes of all those my messuages lands tenements and hereditamentes withe all and singular theire appurtenances sett lying and being in shalborne aforesaid called rivere and lovere nowe in the seuerall tenures and occupations of robert marshall and other. and of all those my messuages landes tenements and hereditamentes with all and singular theire appurtenances called abbattes and powlesdens withe thirtie acres of arable lande lying yn the comon feldes of hungreford and badgeshott. and of all those meswages landes and tenements and hereditamentes withe all and singular theire appurtenances sett lying and being in shalborne aforesaid called river and peusses nowe in the seuirall tenures and occupation of edward dobie and robert hodges or their assigneis for and during by so long tyme as the saide william and anthony my saide sonnes and either of them shall remaine and be within theire seuerall ages of xxiiii yeres, to this entent and purpose that the saide eleanor shall bring upp my said childerns in vertue and learning. and when and assone as the said william my sonne shall accomplishe and atteyne unto his saide age of xxiiii yeres. then i will and bequeth all the said meswages lands tenements and herditamentes and all other the premisses withe all and singular theire appurtenances called rivers lovers abbattes and powlesdens and the said thirtie acres of arrable lande in hungreforde and badgshot aforesaid nowe in the tenures of robert marshall and fraunces chocke esquier to the said william hall my sonne, to hold the same to the saide william and to the heires male of his bodie lawfully begotten
and in default fo heirs male of william then to anthony my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of anthony then to my son thomas and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of thomas then to elianor my wife for her natural life and after her decease to the said john hall my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of john then to richard my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of richard then to lyonell my son and his hiers males.
and in default of heirs male of lyonell then to the right heirs of william my son for ever.
also when and as soon as anthony my son eaches the age of xxiiii years he shall have hold and enjoy the said messuages lands tenements and hereditaments set lying and being in shalborne called river and peusses now in the tenure of the said edward dooby and robert hedges and also one acre of mead lying in kingesmeade now in the tenure of fraunces chock esquier and his heirs male
and in default of heirs male of anthony then to the said william hall my son and his hiers male.
and in defeault of heirs male of william then to the said thomas hall my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of thomas then to elianor my wife for her life and after her decease to john hall my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heris male to john then to richard hall my son and his heirs male.
and in deafult of heirs male of richard then to lyonell my son and his heirs male.
and in default of heirs male of lyonell then to the right heirs of anthony for ever.
to elianor my wife all those lands tenements meadows pastures and feadings and commons with all and singular their appurtenance called cowlles set lying and being in the parishes of ferneham, husborne terraunt and fernhame deane in county southants which i hold by indenture of thomas bastarde of housbourn terraunt together also with fifty sheep. to hold unto elianor until such time as anthony my son shall reach the age of xxiiiiyears and then anthony to have the said sheepe and the said farm lease and all interest and term of years in the same.
to lionell my son a hundred sheep, two oxen, to kine when he reaches the age of xxiiii years.
to richard hall my son ten poundes of money at the age of xxiiii years.
to thomas hall my son a hundred sheep at the age of xxiiii years.
to joanne hall the elder, to joan hall the younger, alice and dorathie my daughters twenty pounds each on the day of their marriage.
if any son die before the age of xxiiii years or any daughter before her marriage then his or her legacy to be divided equally between the others.
if any child impledes molests inquiets or troubles my wife concerning his or her portion or if any child will not be ruled by her then his or her legacy is void.
the residue of all my goods and chattels to elianor my wife who is sole executrix.
overseers: william hall the younger my brother, richard hall my cousin, richard withers my brother in law.
to each of them a ring of gold price ten shillings.
to johan hall the younger my daughter, my house and lands at burbadge called longes in the county of wilts and her heirs.
and in default of such heirs of joanne then to dorothie my daughter and her heirs.
