Monks Coppenhall was a township in Coppenhall ancient parish, Nantwich hundred (SJ 7056), which became a civil parish in 1866, and in 1877 became the Borough of Crewe.
-
From 1974 it was an unparished area, which was abolished in 2013 to become parts of the parishes of Crewe and Leighton (near Nantwich).
- It included the hamlets of Ashbank, Coppenhall Moss, Queens Park and The Valley.
- The population was 121 in 1801, 4571 in 1851, 42074 in 1901, 52423 in 1951, and 48592 in 2001.

- 1936 April 1 — Gained the whole of Church Coppenhall (794 acres, pop. 996 in 1931), and parts of Crewe (near Wybunbury) (652 acres, pop. 186 in 1931), Haslington (79 acres, pop. 13 in 1931), Leighton (near Nantwich) (139 acres, pop. 4 in 1931), Shavington cum Gresty (140 acres, pop. 740 in 1931), Warmingham (34 acres, pop. 13 in 1931), Wistaston (267 acres, pop. 244 in 1931) and Woolstanwood (97 acres, pop. 56 in 1931)
- 1990 April 1 — Gained parts of Wistaston and Woolstanwood, and lost parts to Leighton (near Nantwich), Wistaston and Woolstanwood
- 2013 April 1 — Abolished to become part of the parishes of Crewe and Leighton (near Nantwich).
