- Witton cum Twambrooks was a township in Witton chapelry of Great Budworth ancient parish, Northwich hundred (SJ 6673), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- The civil parish was abolished in 1894 to become part of Northwich.
- The population was 1531 in 1801, 3493 in 1851, and 8914 in 1901.
