- Checkley cum Wrinehill was a township in Wybunbury ancient parish, Nantwich hundred (SJ 7345).
- It became a civil parish in 1866, and in 1965 the hamlet of Wrinehill was transferred to the county of Staffordshire.
- It includes the hamlets of Bunkers Hill, Randilow, and (until 1965) Wrinehill.
- The population was 240 in 1801, 203 in 1851, 206 in 1901, 220 in 1951, and 104 in 2001.
