  • Foulk Stapleford was a township in Tarvin ancient parish, Broxton hundred (SJ 4863), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • It included the hamlets of Brereton Park, Greenlooms (part) and Hargrave.
  • The population was 212 in 1801, 236 in 1851, 204 in 1901, 153 in 1951, and 156 in 2001.
  • In 2015 the civil parish was abolished and incorporated into Hargrave & Huxley.


  • Tarvin: St. Andrew (Church of England). The ancient parish church for the township of Foulk Stapleford.
  • Hargrave: St. Peter (Church of England). An ancient chapel to Tarvin: St. Andrew, and the district church for Foulk Stapleford from 1878.
  • Hargrave, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Built in 1859, closed in 1981.
