Church History

It was founded in 1538.

Church History

An ancient chapelry in the parish of Whitchurch: St. Alkmund (in the county of Shropshire and diocese of Lichfield). On 5 February 1870 it became the district church for the townships of Marbury cum Quoisley and Norbury, and was transferred to the diocese of Chester. 

The district was affected by the following boundary changes: 

  • 1893 February 3 — reduced when part of the township of Norbury was transferred to Bickley: St. Winefrede.
