Church History

Built in 1842 as a chapel to Witton: St. Helen. In 1929 it became a district church for parts of the townships of Castle Northwich and Hartford (previously served by Witton: St. Helen and Hartford: St. John the Baptist). The boundaries of "The Consolidated Chapelry of the Holy Trinity, Northwich" were described in the London Gazette on 26 March 1929:

II. And also all that contiguous portion of the said New Parish of Saint John, Hartford, which is bounded upon the south east and upon the east by the said Parish of Davenham, upon the north by the above described portion of the New Parish of Saint Helen, Witton, otherwise Northwich, and upon the remaining sides, that is to say, upon the west and upon the south, by an imaginary line commencing upon the boundary which divides the said New Parish of Saint Helen, Witton, otherwise Northwich, from the said New Parish of Saint John, Hartford, at the centre of the bridge which carries the abovementioned branch line of the Cheshire Lines Railway across Chester Road, and extending thence first southward, then south westward and then westward along the middle of the said branch line of railway for a distance of 30 chains or thereabouts to a point opposite to the place where the boundary of the Urban District of Northwich diverges south eastward from following the southern side of such line of railway, and extending thence first southward to and then first south eastward and then in various directions along the said Urban District boundary for a distance of 33 chains or thereabouts to the point where such boundary meets the boundary which divides the said New Parish of Saint John, Hartford, from the said Parish of Davenham."
