- Occlestone was a township in Middlewich ancient parish, Northwich hundred (SJ 6962), , which became a civil parish in 1866.
- In 1892 the civil parish was abolished to become part of Wimboldsley.
- It included the hamlets of Lea Head and Occlestone Green
- The population was 85 in 1801 and 117 in 1851.
