Politics & Government

  • This place was an ancient township in Hathersage parish in Derby county. It became a modern Civil Parish in December, 1866.
     
  • This parish was in the ancient High Peak Hundred (or Wapentake).
     
  • The former Outseats Parish Council is now part of Hathersage Parish Council.
     
  • District governance is now provided by the Derbyshire Dales District Council.

  • Bastardy cases would be heard in the Bakewell petty session hearings each Friday.
