Abbotsham Court in bygone days

Devon & Cornwall Notes & Queries, vol. 11, Part 8 (1921), pp. 289-295.

Claude E. Shebbeare

Prepared by Michael Steer

Abbotsham Court, an old white house and tower near Abbotsham, was originally named Shebbeare Town, and the ancestral home of the author's family. The profusely illustrated contribution to Notes & Queries, focusses on Shebbeare family history and was developed from an article appearing in the Bideford Gazette, December 29, 1920. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the New York Public Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
