Fourth Report of the Committee on Devonshire Records
Trans. Devon. Assoc. vol. XXIV (1892), pp. 61-69.
by
J. Brooking-Rowe (ed.)
Prepared by Michael Steer
The report, read at the Association's 1892 Plymouth meeting, focuses on an eclectic mixture of documents including manuscripts on matters relating to Devon’s unique history. These are as follows; (a) The Townsend Manuscripts, (b) The Lansdowne Manuscripts, (c) The Norwich Antiquary Manuscripts, (d) The Trevelyan Manuscripts, (e) The Sloane-Evans Manuscripts, and (f) The Wainwright Manuscripts. The Committee’s purpose was to investigate and report on manuscripts, records and ancient documents existing in or related to Devonshire, with the nature of their contents, their localities and whether or not they are in private or public hands. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the Michigan University Library, and is available from the Internet Archive
