The Warrens of Headborough and their descendants

Trans. Devon. Assoc. vol. 28 (1896) pp. 247-256.

by

J.S. Amery

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Warrens were originally from Nottinghamshire and settled at Headborough Farm near Ashburton in about 1525. John Warren, a descendant of the original John, went to America in 1630, taking the oath of a freeman at Boston in 1631. His descendants progressed to distinguished careers in the politics of the American colonies and played leadership roles in the ensuing struggle for independence. The Warren pedigree (p.495) has been occluded in the online copy since it appears on folded paper. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the New York Public Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
