Draft Will of Thomas Harris of Ashburton [1619]
Devon & Cornwall Notes & Queries Vol. 11:1, (1920), pp. 49-50.
by
Hugh R. Watkin
Prepared by Michael Steer
The author indicates that the draft will was written on the reverse of a long roll of paper marked M37, the face of which was a record of Courts held at Totnes in 1505. Watkins believed the draft to be a solicitor's rough notes, mainly in English. The draft will is dated June 26th, 1619. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the New York Public Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
