Estate Duty Office Will of Edward Peacock of Awliscombe, Yeoman (1820)

Died 18th February 1820

Will proved 10th March 1820 by Edward Peacock of Awliscombe, yeoman, the sole executor in the Registry of the Archdeaconry Court of Exeter

This is the last Will and Testament of me Edward Peacock of Awliscombe in the County of Devon, Yeoman. First I will and direct that all my past debts and funeral expenses be paid by my Executor hereinafter named. 

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane the wife of Daniel Pring the sum of five pounds of lawful British Money.  

To my daughter Molly, the sum of fifteen pounds of like lawful money. 

To my son Edward Peacock the sum of ten pounds of like lawful money. Upon Trust nevertheless for and for the use of my daughter Grace the wife of Martin Troake for her sole use and separate use and benefit and apart from her said husband and not to be in any wise subject or liable to his debts control contracts or engagements and to paid her when and as she shall want the same and her receipt and accepts  shall be a good and sufficient discharge on good and sufficient discharges for the said sum of ten pounds or as much as shall in such receipt or receipts be expressed or acknowledged to be received. 

And to my daughter Adah the wife of John Marks the sum of five pounds of like lawful money all which said Legacies shall be paid and payable in twelve months and one day after my Decease. 

And as to for and concerning all the rest residues  and remaining of my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments  Monies Securities for money Goods and Chattles real and personal Estate and  Effects of every kind whatsoever and wherever, I give devise and bequeath the same  unto my said son Edward Peacock subject to the payment of  any just debts and funeral expenses and the same Legacy herein before given and bequeathed.

I hold to my said son Edward Peacock his heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever and I hereby make nominate constitute and appoint my said son Edward Peacock whole and sole executor hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time before made. 

In Witness whereof I the said Edward Peacock have to this my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of Paper in my Hand and Seal this twenty ninth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen.

Signed sealed Published and declared by the said Edward Peacock as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto
