Proved 14th April 1829 in the Archdeaconry Court of Exeter by Andrew Hewish Gentleman the sole executor

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hewish of Barnstaple in the county of Devon Yeoman. I give and bequeath to my grandchildren Mildred Jane, Elizabeth Ann, Rosilina, Sarah, John and Emily Hewish, children of my son John Hewish the sum of ten pounds each to be placed at my decease or as soon after as conveniently can be by my Executor hereafter named in the savings Bank and to be paid as they each of them respectively attain the age of twenty one years and if either of them should happen to die before that age, then the share or shares of those dying as the case may be to be divided amongst the survivors. All the rest residue and remainder of my Monies Chattels and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath to my son John Hewish whom I hereby appoint my sole Executor. In witness whereof I the above named John Hewish the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this third day of July one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named John Hewish the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses.
