Grenville Documents

Provided by David Carter

The documents were collected and transcribed in connection with the reports produced for a series of properties in Bridge Street, Bideford. In particular, the Grenville Research report traces the history of the Grenville family in Bideford from the 11th century up to the early 18th century. It proves that Sir Richard Grenville (1542-1591) was born in Bideford, in the Manor House of the Grenvilles which used to occupy the site of No's 1-3 Bridge Street.
