A notice of some remarkable Devonshire centenarians

Trans. Devon Assoc., Vol. 15, (1883), pp. 441-446.

by

Alfred Edwards

Prepared by Michael Steer

This paper, read at the Association's July 1883 meeting at Exmouth, presents interesting information on the lives of a number of remarkable Devonians, all of whom attained lives of over 100 years duration, and several, for example Mrs Anstice Steer of Roborough, who were believed, or reported to have attained as many as 120 to 140 years of age. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the Princeton University Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
