The aim of Pycoft's paper, delivered at the Association's July 1881 Dawlish meeting was to honour all Devonshire men who had in any way made themselves noteworthy in Art. The author was one of the promoters of the Art Department of the Bath and West of England Society. He was author of "Art in Devon" and of a Life of Samuel Cousins, R.A. He was also a popular lecturer on a variety of subjects connected with art and science. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries.
