BITTADON, a parish in the hundred of BRAUNTON, county of DEVON, 6¼ miles (N. by W.) from Barnstaple, containing 52 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £5. 2. 8½., and in the patronage of G. A. Barbor, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Peter.
