BRAMPFORD-SPEKE, a parish in the hundred of WONFORD, county of DEVON, 4½ miles (N. by E.) from Exeter, containing 303 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £10, and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. The river Exe forms the western boundary of this parish.
