William Waycott of Buckfastleigh in the County of Devon Wheelwright the son and executor named in the Last Will and Testament of Richard Waycott late of Buckfastleigh aforesaid Wheelwright who died on the 27th Day of December 1817 maketh oath that he hath made diligent search and due enquiry after and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and that to the best of his knowledge, information and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattles and Credits, of which the said Deceased died, possessed within the Archdeaconry of Totnes and the Diocese of Exon (exclusive of what the Deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estates for years of the Deceased, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting anything on account of the Debts due and owing from the Deceased) are under the Value of £1,500 And this Deponent had no Personal Estate and Effects at the time of his decease within the province of York to which this Deponent need to Administer.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Richard Waycott of the Parish of Buckfastleigh in the County of Devon Wheelwright whom am in health and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be God for the same. I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Margaret Waycott all those my six Leaseholds Messuages or Tenements with the Herb-Gardens adjoining the same situate lying and being in the said Parish of Buckfastleigh commonly called Elliot's Plains and are now in the possession of James Lee, George Willcocks, Thomas Winter, John Willcocks, Henry Winter and William Asscott my Tenants To Hold the same with the appurtenances unto my said Wife Margaret Waycott during the term of her natural life she keeping the same in good tenantable repair if she remain my Widow sole and unmarried and not otherwise and after the decease of my Wife or Marriage again which shall first happen I give devise and bequeath the said six Messuages or Tenements and Herb-Garden with the appurtenances unto my Son William Waycott his Executors Administrators and Assignees during the Remainder of my Estate and Interest therein. I give and bequeath unto my said Wife Margaret Waycott my best Bed performed and a Mahogany Table and of my Household Goods a thing of a sort sufficient to furnish a room to be chosen by herself. I give devise and bequeath unto my Daughter Philippa Waycott all that my two Messuages or Tenements and Herb-Gardens adjoining the same situate lying and being in Buckfastleigh aforesaid near the Sign of the King's Arms and are now in the possession of [left blank] Wheeler Excise Officer and Richard Willcocks my Tenants. To Hold the two Messuages or Tenements and Herb-Gardens with the appurtenances unto my said Daughter Philippa Waycott her Executors Administrators and Assignees during the Remainder of my Estate and Interest therein. Also I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Philippa Waycott my second best Bed properly performed and the Sum of One Hundred Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her by my Executors when she attains the age of Twenty one Years or Day of Marriage which shall first happen. I give devise and bequeath unto my said Son William Waycott all that Messuage or Tenement which I now live in and Court-Yards and Herb-Garden belonging to the same and one Meadow and one Field called Great Close and one Orchard now in my possession also my three Messuages or Tenements and Blacksmith's Shop now in possession of George ....[?] Matthew ....[?] and Thomas Irish my tenants all which said premises are situate lying and being in Buckfastleigh aforesaid To Hold the said premises unto my said Son William Waycott his Executors Administrators and Assignees during the Remainder of my Estate and Interest therein subject to the payment of One Hundred Pounds to my said Daughter Philippa Waycott as before mentioned. And as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattles and Personal Estate whatsoever and wherever and of what value kind and quality soever the same may be and not hereinbefore may be given and disposed of after paying my just debts and Funeral Charges. I hereby give and bequeath the same unto my said Son William Waycott his Executors Administrators and Assignees and I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Son William Waycott sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made and do declare these Presents only to be and contain my last Will and Testament And I nominate and appoint Mr Richard Coleton of the Parish of Rattery in the County aforesaid his Executors and Administrators to be Trustees and Guardians for my said Son William and Daughter Philippa until they attain the Age of Twentyone Years and I direct that my ....[?] his Executors and Admrs shall be paid all expenses and for his and their trouble out of my Effects and not be answerable for the loss that shall happen without his and their wilful neglect or default nor for any more money than he or they shall actually receive. In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper set my Hand at the Bottom of the first Sheet and my Hand and Seal to this second and last Sheet this Twenty Eighth Day of August in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirteen.

Richard Waycott [Jun/Sen? - Looks more like Sen in comparison with clear Jun below, but although he had a son Richard b. 1791, he is not mentioned in the will and is presumed dead, and his father had died six months previously]
