In the Name of God Amen

I Thomas Shobbrook the Elder of Burrington in the County of Devon, Yeoman, being weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make this to be and contain my last Will and Testament as follows.

I give and bequeath the following Legacies (viz) unto my Daughter Mary Ann the sum of two pounds, with my Son William the sum of five pounds, unto my Daughter Alice Rowe the sum of two pounds, unto my Daughter Paternal Plumber the sum of two pounds, unto my Son James the sum of two pounds, unto my Son John the sum of five pounds, unto my Daughter Ann Luxton the sum of two pounds, unto my Daughter Susanna Manning the sum of two pounds and unto my Daughter Elizabeth Shobbrook the sum of five pounds. All which legacies to be paid at twelve months next after my decease. I also give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Elizabeth, my best bed ....[?]

And whereas I am entitled under the Will of my late Brother William Shobbrook to the sum of Fifty pounds, And I do hereby xxxx that the said sum of Fifty pounds shall be paid into the hands of my Executive and Executor hereafter named and who shall receive the same, so soon as the same can be done with the Interest thereof due or to become due. And immediately thereafter the principal thereof to be by my Executive and Executor or their Executor, Administrators or Assigns divided amongst my ten Children herebefore named share and share alike and the Interest thereof I give and bequeath unto my said Executive and Executor hereinafter named.

All the ...[?] residue and remainder of my Goods, Chattels, Estate, Credit and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I do hereby bequeath unto my beloved Wife Alice Shobbrook and my son Thomas Shobbrook as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants and I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint these my said Wife, and my said Son Thomas joint Executive and Executor of this my Will they paying out of my Estate and Effects the aforesaid Legacies, my just Debts and Funeral expenses.
