The paper, read at the Association's 1886 St Marychurch meeting follows the author's paper entitled 'Historical Sketch of the Parish of Chagford', delivered 10 years earlier. In the first paper, a list of rectors and a short history of the church were presented. Among the interesting items omitted were (a) a statement of tithes in 1593, (b) payments to Chantry Priests and (c) charges connected with alterations at the East end of the church. These three focal areas provide the substance of Ormerod's 1886 paper. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries.
