Will published 11 May 1713

In the Name of God Amen. I Mark Quick of the parrish of Clayhidon in the County of Devon yeoman being but weak of body but of sound disposing mind and memory praise and go afore given to Almighty God and falling to remembrance the uncertainty of this mortall life do therefore whilst I have time and opportunity make constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following

Principally I give my soul to Almighty God and my body commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named

 And as touching the disposition of such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and bequeath as followeth

I give and bequeath unto Sussanah Hitchcock my daughter thirty shillings a year and every year during her natural life to be paid out of my estate at Dunsgreen by my executor if William Sumhayes and Judith his wife or either of them by whom this said estate is now hold shall happen so long to be living

Item I give and bequeath unto Margaret Marks[] daughter of William Mary John & Mellony all my granddaughters grand sons and daughters of Robert Hitchcock forty shillings apiece to each of them respectively as they shall come to age to be paid by my executor

Item I give and bequeath unto Margaret Farrant my daughter twenty pounds that is to say ten pounds in two years after my decease and ten pounds in four years after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto Susannah Mary John Elizabeth & Joan all my grandchildren sons and daughters of Robert Farrant forty shillings apiece to be paid them when they shall respectively come to age by my exor 

Item I give and bequeath unto Mary my wife my poster bedstead that was hers before marriage, the feather beds, furniture thereto belonging one chest and coffer which she usually keep her clothes in and my middle caldron middle pottage pott four pewter dishes formerly her own two barrels two tubs little brass pan and table board 

Item I give and bequeath unto my said wife eight pounds a year every year during her natural life to be paid four quarterly out of my estates at Ashcomb in the parish of Hemiock by my exors and my will is that if my exors happen to die before my said wife then my said wife to have all the estates at Ashcomb during her natural life. 

Lastly I give bequeath unto William Quick my son all and singular my estate goods and chattels not before herein given with all writings for the holding of the same and I do hereby and herein make constitute and ordain my son William Quick my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the eleventh day of May Anno Domi 1713
