In the name of God Amen

I, William Quick of Cleyhidon in the county of Devon, husbandman, being weak of Body but perfect of mind and memory, thanks be to God, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. 

First I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the Christian burial. 

Item I give unto Robert Quick, my brother twenty nobles

Item I give unto my brother Mark Quick twenty nobles

Item I give to my sister, Allis Riggs one cow which she has in her keeping already

Item I give to my sister Thomazine’s daughter Elizabeth five marks 

Item  I give to my brother, Thomas Quick five shillings and to his eldest daughter twelve pence. 

Item I give to his two youngest children forty shillings apiece. 

Item I give to my cousin Rachel Busson twenty shillings 

Item I give to all my godchildren half a crown apiece. 

Item I give to the poor of the parish forty shillings to be equally divided amongst them. 

The rest of my goods not bequeathed, I give unto my wife Charity Quick whom I do make my whole executor of this my last will and testament. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 7th day of May in the year of our Lord God 1650 –the mark of William Quick
